DemoGreen, the festival of green

20.06.2023
The event dedicated to machinery and technologies for gardening and landscaping will take place on 28 and 29 September in San Donato (MI). About 50 manufacturers are expected to participate, who will display the most innovative models on their stands and take part in demonstration tests in the field. The two-day event, which is organised by Demogreen srl in cooperation with the San Donato Municipality, Confagricoltura, Assoverde, Kepos and Comagarden, is aimed at a public of greenery professionals, but also at the vast world of hobbyists and enthusiasts of gardening and "en plein air" activities.

A great kermesse for urban green. This is how the 2023 edition of DemoGreen, which takes place in San Donato Milanese on 28 and 29 September in the beautiful setting of the Parco dei Conigli, promises to be. Tractors, lawn mowers, ride-on mowers, brush cutters, and every other type of machine and equipment for gardening and landscaping will be on display at the stands, and engaged in demonstration tests over an area of 100 thousand square metres, in front of an audience made up of landscaping designers, gardeners, maintenance workers, municipal operators, as well as enthusiasts and hobbyists. The event, organised by DemoGreen srl with the patronage of the San Donato Municipality and in collaboration with Assoverde, Confagricoltura, Comagarden and Kepos, involves about 50 manufacturers, who will show the most advanced and functional models for sustainable management of parks, sports facilities and public and private green spaces. Electric vehicles with low environmental impact, planting of trees and plant species adapted to climate change, sowing of lawns with crabgrass to reduce water requirements, and a totally 'carbon free' balance (since the green areas planted amply compensate for the emissions produced by the vehicles and exhibition structures during the event) underline the ecological spirit of the event and its primary objective, that of bringing the highest standards in terms of design, technology and management to the gardening sector. The conference programme is particularly rich, with an event on the first day signed by Confagricoltura, with the participation of Planta Regina, specifically aimed at municipal administrations and dedicated to the new procurement code, crop production contracts and plant species best suited to climate change. On the second day, there will be a meeting, promoted by Assoverde, focusing on the approach and application of the new price list for gardening and maintenance activities. At the end of the exhibition, on 30 September, an event centred on the "Green White Paper" is scheduled, dedicated to the management of health parks, with a focus on water, organised by Kepos. Other initiatives of a technical and popular nature are being defined. Very significant is the participation at DemoGreen of Asproflor, the association that promotes the prestigious Comuni Fioriti award, which aims to develop synergies between small and large municipalities, professional gardening organisations and manufacturers of mechanical equipment.

"Machines for peace", FederUnacoma at the G7 Agricultural Summit

The year 2023 ends with a decline in tractor sales, but with an increase in revenue due to higher manufacturing costs. India remains the leader in terms of the number of units, while the United States and Europe record declines in sales, with a more substantial decrease observed in China. Climatic variables, as well as geopolitical factors, are increasingly crucial in different regions of the world.

Tractors: Sales Decline by 19% in the First 5 Months of the Year

The domestic market for agricultural machinery continues to decline. From tractors (-19.2%) to combine harvesters (-40%) and telescopic handlers (-28.3%), all types of agricultural machinery have seen a significant decline in sales compared to the same period in 2023. The decline is attributed to the reduction of 4.0 incentives, delays in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), and the stagnation of agricultural incomes.

Agricultural Machinery: Italian Production Exceeds 16 Billion

Exports drive the national industry to its highest value ever. The quantities produced remain slightly below the average of recent years, but the increase in list prices boosts revenue. Europe consolidates itself as the main market for made-in-Italy technologies, followed by the United States.
